I had a feeling it was going to be an incredible day earlier this week so asked if I could take a half day off to enjoy it.

It’s April 13, which typically means any open ski areas in the East are down to just groomers, but that wasn’t the case today at Bolton Valley for their closing day.

Fortunately, we got most of the ski day in before I had a moment where, for the first time in my life, I thought I was going to die.

Today was my 30th ski day this month, which is a milestone I’ve never reached before.
(PACKED) POWDER DAY AT WHITEFACE
It wasn’t a full blown powder day at Whiteface, but they did pick up a few inches of snow overnight.
A JANUARY POWDER DAY AT WHITEFACE
The mountain picked up at least six to eight inches of snow today and the afternoon was full of free refills
A FIRM DAY AT WHITEFACE WITH PILES OF POWDER
Anytime you hit a firm patch of snow, there’d be a pile of powder somewhere shortly after. This made the skiing a lot more fun than if it’d just been firm everywhere!
A WINDY AFTERNOON OF SKIING AT WHITEFACE
By the time I got to Whiteface after work, all of the primary upper mountain lifts had closed for the day due to wind.
