SKIING THROUGH HEAVY SNOW AT WHITEFACE

It was a quiet day at Whiteface. There were very few people there, which meant the mountain was my playground! I got to the mountain at 1:30 PM today, which is a little later than usual, and met up with Wild Bill for a few runs.

They were spinning the gondola, Face Lift, Summit Quad and Falcon Flyer today. The Notch lift, which goes from the Bear Den Learning Center to mid-mountain, was once again not spinning. I’m not sure why. As has been the case most of this season so far, visibility was very low up high. We skied out of it pretty quickly, though, thankfully.

I skied Paron’s Run, Essex, Excelsior, Lower Northway and everything below that a few times and I thought it all skied pretty well. I did not ski Cloudspin, The Follies or Victoria today. Wild Bill had told me Victoria wasn’t very good and so we stayed away. With that being said, Excelsior was fun to cruise down. The snow on Essex was really good, as was the snow basically going all the way down to the base.

From what I could tell, there were no snow guns on this afternoon, but it did start dumping snow in the final hour of the day. We’re talking snow so heavy it hurt when it hit your face while skiing and even riding the lifts! It was coming down hard and fast. It was a winter wonderland out there.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Lincoln
